A flood of emotion envelopes us as we begin to write this post. 8, count them, 8 long grueling years of studying, getting pimped, studying, little sleep, studying, exams, studying, little time for play, and oh yeah, did we mention studying? This chapter can finally be closed and another will anxiously be opened. However, this particular chapter could not have come to an end without a celebration. We Kiemeney's have to go out in style. The festivities began Thursday night with a banquet. We got all dressed up and joined Mike's fellow classmates for good food and comedy. Friday evening, Jen got to hood Mike in a special ceremony. Afterwards, we (Mike, Jen & Jared) went out to dinner at El Torito. Saturday morning Mike participated in the bachelorette services. This event made all seem to real that the next day Mike would officially become a physician. Following the church service on Saturday, the Kiemeney, Kingsbury & Renzi family went to lunch @ CPK. Yum! Later we spent time with out of town family and decorated for the graduation bash the next day. Bright and early on May 24th, 2009 Mike was awarded his doctorate degree in medicine. Wow! Cheers, tears and laughter filled the air. Tons of pictures were taken of the event, like the one found above. Hard to believe these guys/ goofballs are doctors. Following the ceremony and red carpet picture taking, friends and family alike joined us at Mike's grandparent's home for a party, no less. Mike was surprised with a life like card board cut out of himself at the doorway. Can you tell which one above is the real Mike? After the party, Mike attended his best friend's graduation from dental school. Jen was too sick to go:( Later that night we both sat on the couch and ate barbeque left overs from the party and reveled in the established reality of Mike's accomplishments.
