holy cow I'm pregnant again... post #2
Mike and I both come from families that have small family get togethers due to amounts of uncles, aunts and cousins. Family if you are reading this we have loved the get togethers. We just feel the more the merrier. Mike and I have always agreed from the beginning that we’d have four kids to add to the future family get togethers. People with kids would laugh at us. People without kids would laugh at us. Now I know why. What the heck were we thinking? Mason has just turned a year old and then second child is a growing budding flutter inside of me and I am already freaking out.
Not so much for me but for Mason. How I am going to love another child the way that I love Mason. It sounds absolutely ridiculous but the only way in my mind that it’s going to work is if I love Mason or the second child less. Both of which hurt my heart. I feel like I am cheating Mason out of time, uninterrupted one on one time with Mommy and Daddy. The rational side of my brain thinks well, that’s not really fair because the second, third and forth child will never have what Mason had in terms of alone time with us as parents. So why should Mason get even more of it? Then the emotional side of my brain says, give Mason what he deserves you love him.
We were planning on expanding the family after Mason turned two. Our second child will be born when Mason is 19 ½ months old. Opps…I guess it was in God’s plan for as that way. As for a third and forth child, we’ll see after the second one comes.

Mason's gonna be a Big Brother...
...and this is how we announced it... I ordered a Thanksgiving-ish shirt on online and had a postcard made. We sent it to family the week of Thanksgiving with the message of, something else to be thankful for this year. Baby #2 is due to arrive May 23rd, 2012!
These are some of the out takes...enjoy!

Holy Cow I'm Pregnant, Again!
Yeah I’M pregnant. Not WE, I. I am the one who has to carry this baby. I am the one who has to work 40+ hours a week and then come home and run after Mason. I am the one who has to adjust my diet, making sure I get enough fruits and veggies and enough water but not too much juice. No more lunch meat, no more Hickory Farms summer beef logs at Christmas time, no more feta cheese, no more hot dogs (dang it now I’m craving one). I am the one who gains the weight and spends fleeting moments throughout the day wondering if it will all come off again one day. I am the one who can no longer sleep on my back at night. I am the one who endures the backs aches and the swelling feet after spending 13 hours a shift working on them. I am the one who has to endure the unpredictable waves of nausea and the crazy cravings. I am the one who has keep up with the laundry, the cleaning, the grocery list, the cooking, Mason’s meals and playdates. ME. Okay, I feel a little better.

Mason's 1st Birthday Zoo Party!
The day after Mason turned one he invited all of his friends over to our home to help him celebrate turning one! In honor of his big day we had a somewhat local petting zoo come to our home to be the entertainment and entertainment it was! Mason got bit by the donkey within the first five minutes. He was okay though. No broken skin. Got right back out and played with all of his people and animal friends. He LOVED the bunny rabbits. Was not so sure about the Zebo or the pony ride but eventually warmed up. We all went inside for presents and cake. Check out the days festivities below. Thanks to all who came and thank for all your generous gifts!
Diving into his cake
Not sure what he should do with it at first:)
the candy favor table... guests got to stuff their chinese take out boxes full of candy in case they didn't get enough sugar while they were at the party...hehe

Happy 1st Birthday Mason!
I can't believe our baby is ONE! It seems like just yesterday that we brought him home. We were scrolling through all of the blog pictures of Mason recently and looking at how much he has changed physically. He has such a big personality for such a little guy. We think that even comes across in a still photo, just proving our point. We LOVE parenthood and have been blessed with such a sweet adorable little man. Makes us sad to think a year has gone by but also a relief to know we survived. Mason is standing independently now. Has taken a few steps on his own but has come to realize he can get around quicker if he crawls. He says words like: 'gog' for dog, 'yeah', 'bye-bye' that comes with the cutest wave that makes my heart melt every time, 'ba' for ball, 'whatz that', 'whoz that', 'go' and 'ba-ba' for bottle/sippy cup. He has a total of seven teeth now and is eating practically everything we eat now (still no fast food for him). Still LOVES Mickey Mouse and Rusty our 'gog'. Mike is loving the daddy role especially now that Mason can play catch.
So on Mason's actual birthday we made Belgian Waffles for breakfast and open family birthday presents. Mason could hardly wait to open the push Buggy that Grandma and Grandpa Myers bought him. Daddy put it together and then we all took a walk. He loved it as you can see. Thank You! After nap and lunch went to the Pumpkin Patch and out to dinner where Mason had his favorite meal- Macaroni and Cheese!
to demonstrate how much he has grown compared to daddy.
Here's Year 1
