Our stuff is here!

Finally! Our moving company (Xpress Movers- they suck! FYI don't use them) assured us that everything, including our car, would arrive no later than June 21st. Liars...It was delivered June 25th @ 8:00 p.m. To top it off (with some Qdoba- don't worry those of you who are suppose it get will) they scratched our hard wood floors and put a small hole in our perfectly new walls! Our car is scheduled to arrive July 6th, we'll see if that happens. Until then the moving company is paying for our rental car, per Mike calling them everyday and hassling them. Good job B. No more sleeping on an air mattress for us. We're movin' up!

Oh & they broke the tip off one of our fishing poles...idiots!

Back in Cali for Makboul Wedding

I managed to get some time off from orientation to fly back to Cali for my boy Ahmad's wedding. Wouldn't have missed it for the world. It's a long flight and as usual I caught the airplane sniffles but I arrived in one piece. Picked up tux and headed out with the peez to the hotel where the bridal party would be spending the night. A bunch of us went out to Dave & Buster's for some good times. It was nice to hang with Ahmad and Gia, the peez, and Nate...it'd been a while. Lots of me and Nate telling Ahmad to run for it while he still can:) (don't worry gia, I love you we just love giving Ahmad a hard time)
We played some basketball the morning of the wedding. Had to show Ahmad who the boss is one last time:) Got cleaned up and made it to the wedding. You've never seen someone sweat as much as my boy Makboul in your life (except maybe the peez). It wasn't even hot! Seriously, he had to change his shirt 3 times before the service even started. I almost started an IV on him my man was so dehydrated. The wedding was beautiful, I would expect nothing less from Gianette. Good food, good music, good friends...what more can you ask for. Two memorable things from the reception. Ahmad handling his business with the garter with Dr. Bolivar staring him down from closeby. That took guts:) And the carnage that transpired with the ensuing garter toss. Let's just say young boys should not be allowed to catch the garter or else someone's gonna get hurt. I'm just saying we almost had to call in the disaster response team to look for missing people after the dogpile. It was hilarious!
It was a great weekend. Great wedding. I am very happy for the Makbouls and love them both very much. Hard to leave again knowing this time would be for much longer.

Jen's Graduation

I'm done! Well, sort of...I have one four week course to complete in August. Then I will receive my second Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN baby). Today was the formal walk across the stage, people clap and then the dean hands you and empty diploma folder. Such a tease. Immediately following walking back up the aisle I took a couple of pictures and then Mike and I went to directly to the airport. Rus made it on the plane. Well, under it at least. Here we come NC!

Moving Day!!!!

Bittersweet...Today the last box was packed and loaded. Never realized how much "stuff" we really had. Our Van Leuven house is now only a memory. So sad. But we're really excited for our new house. After we (Mike's parents and us) cleaned the empty house we let Rus inside in hopes he would start to understand what was happening, as if the tons of boxes in the house for weeks wasn't enough. He did a quick lap and then ran out the front door and sat in front of the car. We'd like to think he's just as excited as we are but deep down we know he's just a dog.

Sigma Theta Tau

Today Jen was inducted into the national nursing honors association. A boring formal ceremony that held a special significance. Fortunatley, I had great friends to celebrate with. We all went to El Torito afterwards with our significant others for drinks and dinner. Good times!
